Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We’re looking for an experienced leader to own key business decisions, own product roadmaps and execution for key portions of the Marketplace seller lifecycle. This individual will have direct ownership of the creation, implementation, and ongoing management of policies, programs and key product feature enablement that govern the Walmart’s Global Marketplace & will cultivate strong cross-functional partnerships with a diverse range of internal teams, including Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering, to effectively bring our strategic plans to life.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations

Business requirement gathering and product roadmap development

Identify and assess potential financial, operational & reputational risks to the platform and its users to develop, implement and manage key business & product requirements that govern marketplace risk function and orchestration of key operational workflows, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Analytical Approach

Influence the development of data-driven insights to evaluate the impact & effectiveness of existing policies to identify areas of opportunity. Conduct & present thorough analysis to support policy development, evolution, and decision-making.

Communication

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex policies and regulations clearly and concisely to an executive audience.

Cross-functional collaboration

Bring together different departments or functional areas across the organization to drive collaboration & alignment on how to achieve common goals most effectively. Participate in & influence further develop of processes to support these outcomes and improve decision-making, problem solving & innovation between teams.

Strategic problem solving

Bring a systematic approach to solving complex business problems where no single ‘right’ answer exists. Consistently show an ability to clearly define, analyze and propose multiple solutions that solve for an underlying objective while clearly articulating the expected impacts & tradeoffs of each path.

How you’ll make an impact: 

  • Gather input from a variety of internal and external sources to define product concepts. 
  • Work in close collaboration with our engineers and business owners to manage product/project related tasks. 
  • Respond to the needs of customers throughout the development process. 
  • Develop detailed requirements, feature definitions and implementation plans. Gather business requirements, write BRDs, functional specifications, User flows, System flows, Technical Specification including API specifications, as needed. 
  • Compose clear, succinct user stories that capture user empathy as part of an Agile project framework.
  • Manage product backlog and user story priorities. 
  • Participateincross-functional teams during the entire lifecycle of product development. Proactively identify problems that arise, outline options, recommend solutions, and escalate as needed. 
  • Champion the needs of business teams and stakeholders throughout the development process, ensuring that what is delivered meets the original goals and objectives of the project. 
  • Convincingly communicate product solutions and benefits to customers and stakeholders. 
  • Define the metrics that measure productsuccess anduse data to drive decisions. 
  • Partner with technical PMs tolead a team of highly technical developers & testers as part of an agile scrum team. 

What you’ll bring:

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk domains areas, e.g., product safety, consumer protection, sales restrictions, Trust & Safety, e-commerce marketplace risk and compliance
  • Domain knowledge in e-commerce, retail, supply chain, online advertising and/or analytics. 
  • Ability to develop and implement a business strategy and make dynamic adjustments as landscapes shift.
  • Strong technical knowledge and an ability to influence engineering decisions. 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to draw insights from data.
  • Ability to identify areas to leverage machine learningto optimize processes and product
  • Ability to simultaneously execute tactically and strategically in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective at managing difficult tradeoffs to meet deadlines across conflicting priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in business requirement gathering and product management, or a related role within the e-commerce or technology industry
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex policies and regulations clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
