Terry Lea Fudge Obituary - 2023 (2024)

Terry Lea Fudge was born May 11, 1962, to parents Alden House and Ruby Jane Fife House in Redwood City, California. A brother, Gary House, and stepsister Shari House joined the family.

She graduated from Rapid City Central High School in Rapid City, South Dakota. During school she participated in the Rodeo Club. She then attended a travel and services program in Denver, Colorado for 2 years.

She married James Eickhoff on August 7, 1982. They divorced in 1984. One child, Jeff, was born to this Union.

She married Terrance L. Chamberlin on May 26, 1987. They divorced in 1991. They had two children, Robert, and Richard Chamberlin. Terrance also adopted Jeff.

On February 14, 1992, Terry married Jim Fudge in Sheridan, Wyoming. She worked at several secretarial and accounting jobs, including operating her own business, Little Goose Billing. She then began employment with Sheridan County School District #1 and continued employment there until she was forced to retire for health reasons. She also worked side by side with her husband on a small ranch near Big Horn, Wyoming running up to 106 mother cows. Much of the work was done on weekends and evenings as they both had full-time jobs outside of ranching. She could work cattle with the best of them! She operated a slew of field equipment with ease. Many a night she would pick the boys up after school and with them sleeping on the floor of the swather, could be seen cutting hay late into the night.

She participated fully in raising the boys and passed along her passion of hunting and fishing onto them. She loved camping at the lake in the motorhome and was excellent at fishing. She seldom wanted to quit once on the water. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Most of all, she loved the children and families she met and played with at the Big Horn School. “Miss Terry” was well known and loved by many. She worked on many projects to be involved with the students. Many a day youngsters headed to the creek would swing by to say “hi” or talk with her on their way. She was involved with many young children and their parents while working at the school. For years, she was the assistant coach/secretary for the Big Horn Little Guy Football Teams and never missed one of the boys’ sporting events.

In the Spring of 2023, Terry was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer that quickly spread through her body. She passed away at Sheridan Memorial Hospital on December 27, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was cremated.
