Linn recently purchased the horse, Jim," from William Adams, of near Farmer, at a fancy price. This fine horse will make the season at A. 0. Jackson's farm 2 miles southeast of town. W.

A. Pritchett of Laddonia is the wood workman in J. A. Farthing's shop and will move his family down as soon as he can find a vacant house and, make Vandalia. his home.

We are glad to welcome Mr. Pritchett and family to our community. C. K. Fitzgerald has four horses whose ages sum up to ninetyeight years, averaging 244 years apiece.

Norman Hutchinson of Hannibal and Mrs. Annie Inge of Ralls county were a arrested here Friday on a charge of living together unlawfully. They were arranged before a justice of the peace, and on their plea of guilty, were fined $25 and costs each.

Neither had the money with which to pay the fine and they were remanded to jail. The woman was afterwards released. Hutchison, it is said, has a wife and two children in Hannibal. Mrs. Inge was divorced from her husband in Ralls county a few years -Montgomery Standard.

Hutchison was in Vandalia for several weeks mending clocks, sewing machines, etc. Mrs. Inge was a clerk in the Racket Store here when Hutchison came and he met her while he was here. They left town together and the above followed. Hutchison- and Mrs.

Woodson who died in Alton, after an illness of three days of pneumonia. Rev. T. S. Matthews preached the funeral at the home of William Straube and the body was then buried in the Kilby burying ground.

The deceased was a brother of Tom Woodson of this city. Miss Daisy Deane, who been chosen as assistant to Elinore Mare the corresponding secretary of the Baptist Home and Foreign Mission Board, gave heart to heart talk at the Baptist church Friday night. She entered a strong plea for each one to do the work as God had planned it for that particular life. That we are called as distinctly as little Samuel of old. Miss Deane will re-enter the Chicago training school the first of May and graduate in July.

She is indeed one whom is living her life as planned by the Creator.
