IMPORTANT NOTE: If you see this AD, the car IS available! No need to ask “Is it available?” Due to the number of text scammers, we no longer can answer texts...so please CALL if you are seriously interested in this car. Also, please read below for full description and 2 video links.

BACKGROUND: The MG T-Type series of sports cars was introduced in 1936 and continued to 1955.
In January, 1950 the “TD” update was formally introduced. Improvements included a modified hypoid-geared rear axle, completely different transmission, rack & pinion steering, and width was increased by 5-inches enabling a new track of 50-inches.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THIS CAR: Remarkably, this car has had ONE owner for 38 years. It has been lovingly restored and maintained throughout this time and has provided many years of enjoyment to the current owner. The engine was rebuilt in 2007, with about 2,000 driven since. Safety upgrades/improvements include higher visibility tail-lights, turn signal indicators, and a back-up light.

LOCATION: Atlanta, GA

VIN NOTE: When this MG TD was built, there were no standardized Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). Therefore, it was standard practice to use whatever serial number that the manufacturer provided. The number recorded on the Georgia Registration document for this car is: 5964. We are working to find the location of this number on the car…it is likely on the frame. When found, we will update this description.

VIDEO: If you do not see a video in the image set, you can visit YouTube at two addresses below and see the car in action…

OPERATIONAL REPORT: As you have seen in the videos, the car drives very nicely. We tested all the following and found them to be working: directionals/headlamps/reverse light, horn, and gauges (though the oil pressure guage accuracy may be a bit off as it has a reading even when the car is off). Note that these cars do not have a fuel gauge – a light is supposed to illuminate when low, but it is on all the time. MG actually sold a sort of wood “yardstick” dipstick to check the gas level – and one of these goes with the car. There are rear bumper guards included, but they were not mounted (Note: when mounted, the rear guards also hold the bumper tighter/straighter). The windshield wipers are not operational. This car was not built with a windshield washer or heater.

SUMMARY: This 1951 MG TD is likely one of the best examples to survive. It was restored to be driven and enjoyed. You can also be proud to show it at classic car events. Though it is very impressive to see, please do not expect absolute perfection as there are a few paint flaws/dings and wear areas on the upholstery.

ODOMETER NOTE: The indicated 78,166 mileage is believed correct but cannot be verified with certainty due to the limitations of its design and lack of records from “day one” when new. Therefore, NO warranties expressed or implied are in effect as to actual mileage of this Vehicle.

PAYMENT DETAILS: Bank to Bank wire Transfer (or cash) only.

ABOUT ME: After retiring from 30 years of sales and marketing in a Global 100 company, I formed Murphy Endeavors, LLC and began personally buying and selling classic cars as a collector, as well as marketing them for friends and clients. This classic belongs to a fellow classic car enthusiast.

IMPORTANT DOCUMENT & CONDITION OF SALE REMARKS: Bill of Sale and (clear) Georgia Owner Registration will be provided to the Buyer.

NOTE: The state of Georgia does not require titles for vehicles built before 1986. Therefore, this 1951 MG TD was not issued a title. The Registration document is the legal document of ownership. Every state observes the DMV rules of all other states, therefore this vehicle may be insured, licensed, registered and driven in any state. Whether it is titled depends upon the DMV title rules of your state.

This Vehicle is sold strictly on a final and AS-IS basis without any warranties expressed or implied. Even the very best restored classics will require additional maintenance and service - often without warning. Therefore, please expect to continue - as the new owner and caretaker of this classic - to perform additional maintenance and repairs. We hope that you are able to enjoy the MG without the need for an immediate repair - but understand that this indeed could be found necessary. As seasoned collectors know, every time you start (or attempt to start) a collectible vehicle is a new experience...it could be a wonderful ride, or a new repair to undertake. That is the nature of the hobby, and this classic should not be purchased if you are not prepared for this reality. We have presented the car accurately to the best of our ability, but oversights are possible…so we invite pre-purchase examination for serious buyers.

All sales are final.

This car drives well - but due to age - it is recommended that it be transported to its new owner’s locale.
Finally, we encourage you to be sure to review ALL the images and ALL the image notations for this classic - in addition to this description – because they relate important information too!
