Uh, nothing if you're only going to sleep on the flight.

DEN-IAH
767- was originally a 757 but equipment swapped day of the flight

Options:
Thai Meatballs
Noodle Salad
Cheese Enchilada

Had the Thai meatballs. Not bad. Roll was really good, not sure what flavor the pie in the sky was but I miss the chocolate one. That side salad thing needs some work.

I am going with the Thai meatballs pre-order. It seems to get decent reviews on Reddit and the above user said they were ok. The online photo of the beef and broccoli didn’t look very exciting.

PDB of water, OJ or sparkling wine.

Lunch was choice of Thai meatballs, Thai glass noodle or cheese enchiladas. Went with the latter. First time trying this iteration and I thought it was quite good.

Drinks came out first.

Next flight is UX to MCI and I sure hope dinner is better than the packaged cheese plate shown upthread. I don’t see why they couldn’t do say the cold glass noodle dish on UX. Stay tuned.

It will be a snack basket with "homestyle original seasoned" pretzels, black pepper flavour almonds, mango jerkey, popped corn snacks.

EWR-MSN is 799 miles. But for a mile, you'd have a meal. :o

Snack means don't expect very much. It means your choice of Biscoff, stroopwafel, etc.or something along those lines, maybe snack basket. I flew ORD to ORF both ways in first in the early morning and that's what I got - biscoff or stroop.

I thought “ snack” means meal, or something moderately substantial, and “meals not served on this flight” means snack basket.

Am I wrong - or at least too optimistic??

Actually good point, you might be right on that count. They tend to put "snack" on flights that get a meal but are timed outside of normal dinner hours, such as redeyes. Then they serve the same meal as those within normal dinner hours. So maybe EWR-MSN got the benefit of some generous mileage math and will get a meal.

I do see "meals not served" on flights of my own that I know are snack basket.

Hmmmm this is interesting. I guess I’ll find out for sure in a few weeks. Either way I’m fine since I don’t really need to meals anyways. :p Thanks guys. :)

So UA has rolled out an alleged "snack basket" on flights under 800 miles . . . seen it twice in the last week now on SFO-PHX. It is the most sad and pitiful thing you have ever seen. It is actually worse than the stroopwaffel and pretzels on a metal tray. About eight tiny little bags of processed carbs of brands and types I've never seen before scattered around the bottom of a basket that appears empty from the side. Every single pax turned it away in disgust on last night's flight. The FA was clearly embarrassed. (I would have taken a pic, but it just would have further embarrassed her.)

Just when you thought this airline couldn't get any cheaper . . . .

I’ve never thought that. :D

I’m on a flight of 601 miles in a few weeks. Thanks for the tip. I will plan accordingly and make sure to hit the grab-and-go UC in DEN beforehand.

Only one choice, and it was the dreaded packaged cheese plate. Terrible. Also, everything came out wrapped in plastic — the standard or a lazy FA?

The passenger next to me asked for a second gin and tonic about an hour before landing and the FA said she was out of gin — only two mini bottles loaded for a 75-passenger flight.

You'd think with the return of the cold glass noodle dish UA would at least start loading it up again on regional flights but NOPE...

Also as for those of you who have seen the snack basket, how is it compared to this makeshift snack basket I had on EWR-YYZ last week?

The cheese enchiladas are pretty good, I had them on a DEN to SFO flight last week. Definitely the best option that I have had recently. I wish UA would move back to a more traditional salad vs. the current corn/quinoa offering that they currently have.

That's far superior to what I've seen in the past week.

I would have loved a stroopwaffel.
